Chicago Police Urge Caution after Daytime Burglaries in Beverly
The burglar is breaking into homes through the back door, often in broad daylight.

Chicago Police are warning Beverly residents to be vigilant, after a string of daytime burglaries in the neighborhood.
A burglar has been breaking into the rear of homes during the daytime, police said in an alert. The burglar has hit at least five homes, and enters by breaking rear windows on a back door, then reaching inside to unlock it. The burglar then locates the master bedroom and steals items.
The offender struck Sept. 5 at 11:30 a.m., on the 9000 block of South Damen Avenue. The next break-in happened on Sept. 13 shortly after noon, in a home on the 10200 block of South Bell Avenue. Then again Sept. 22, on the 9300 block of South Damen Avenue around 3:13 p.m. And on Oct. 7, a home in the 9600 block of South Leavitt Avenue, around 6 a.m., reports the Chicago Tribune.

During one of the burglaries, a resident arrived home to find the suspect still inside.
He is described as a black male between the ages of 18 and 20 years old, approximately 5-foot-10 to 6-foot-2 in hieight. He was seen wearing a red baseball hat, blue checkered shirt, blue jeans and wearing a backpack.
