Cocaine Powder Found On Chicago Man's Front Seat: Prosecutor
Evergreen Park police answered call of reckless driver, prosecutors said.

EVERGREEN PARK, IL -- Prosecutors said cocaine powder was found on the front seat of a Chicago man’s car who was stopped for reckless driving in Evergreen Park. Kenneth Mitchell, 58, appeared before Cook County Judge Michael Kane on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance.
Evergreen Park police answered a call for a 2007 Buick that was driving recklessly near 99th Street and Western Avenue on Jan. 30. The prosecutor said officers spotted “cocaine powder” on the front seat. Mitchell was charged with possession of .05 grams of cocaine.
The prosecutor said Mitchell has seven prior felony convictions for forgery, the most recent in 2005.

Mitchell was given a $10,000 I-bond. The judge also ordered him to be on a 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. curfew while his case is pending. Mitchell is due back in court Feb. 21.
