Cops Find 220 Grams of Pot in Speeder's Trunk: Prosecutor

Evergreen Park police said man had cannabis, paraphernalia and a large quantity of plastic baggies in trunk during traffic stop.

EVERGREEN PARK, IL -- A Chicago man was arrested after police found a large quantity of cannabis and paraphernalia in the trunk of his car during a traffic stop, prosecutors said in court.

Adrian Ramos, 21, appeared before Cook County Judge Donald Havis on a felony charge of possession of cannabis with intent. He was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and speeding.

Evergreen Park police clocked Ramos allegedly driving 77-mph in a 30mph speed zone on Feb. 14. He was pulled over in the 9100 block of South Western Avenue.

When officers popped open his trunk, they found 220 grams of marijuana, along with various paraphernalia, including three glass pipes, three Mason jars, a digital scale, a grinder and a large amount of plastic baggies. The pipes and jars both had residue, the prosecutor said.

Ramos was given a $10,000 I-bond, along with random drug testing. His next court date is March 10 in Bridgeview.
