Food Delivery Driver Used Customer's Identity to Shop Online: Prosecutors

Chicago man used information off customer's credit card after delivering food, prosecutors say.

A food delivery driver was accused of taking a customer’s credit card number and order merchandise off the Internet.

Prosecutors said that Jack Hu, 24, had delivered Chinese food that had been ordered from an Alsip restaurant on July 30. After the customer paid for the order by credit card, Hu took the number which he later used to order an item online.

Hu was arrested and charged with identify theft on August 19.

Prosecutors said that Hu is already on probation for a drug charge in 2014 and filed a violation or probation.

Bail for both charges was set at $10,000. Hu is due back in court on Sept. 10.
