A 26-year-old Cook County Jail inmate allegedly attacked three sheriff’s deputies while waiting for his hearing at the Bridgeview Courthouse Tuesday morning.

Timothy Ennis was scheduled for a court hearing on pending robbery charges when sheriff’s officials said he attacked three deputies in the holding area between courtrooms 103 and 105.

Ennis is said to have struck the sheriff’s deputies. There were no serious injuries and a trip to the hospital was not required, although some courthouse employees remarked that a sheriff’s deputy was injured during the reported incident.

According to jail records, Ennis has been held without bond at the county jail since May 2012.

The Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office said that Ennis has two pending felony cases, including robbery and aggravated unlawful resisting arrest from 2012, and charges in 2011 for attempted robbery and aggravated battery.

Ennis was not charged in Tuesday’s incident. A Cook County Sheriff’s official said that the incident remains under investigation.
