Swim Relay Team Breaks 15-Year-Old EPCHS Record
The quartet of Connor Shomody, Quinn Tyrrell, John Bledsoe and Nathan Fernandez broke the school record in the 200 freestyle relay.

A quartet of Evergreen Park Community High School swimmers broke a 15-year-old school record this past weekend.
The relay team of Connor Shomody, Quinn Tyrrell, John Bledsoe and Nathan Fernandez had an all-time school best time of 1 minute, 32.48 seconds in the 200 freestyle relay at the South Suburban Conference meet at Shepard High School on Saturday.
"I couldn't be more proud of Connor, Quinn, John and Nate for what they have accomplished this season," EPCHS Head Boys Swimming Coach Sarah Marshall said. "The 200 Freestyle Relay record has been slightly out of reach for us, even with strong swimmers in the group, because we did not have a solid group of four guys who could go fast enough to make it happen.

"These four trained hard and came together to get stronger and get their splits quicker to beat the goal time. They are a great group in and out of the pool and work very hard as multi-sport athletes and leaders in the classroom."
The group broke the previous EPCHS record in the event held by Jeff Easterhouse, Neil Drumm, Steve Dahlke and Brian Edgeworth in 2007 (1:33.80).
