This summer Evergreen Park Community High School District 231 has two exciting new projects taking place. The first is the renovation of the school’s LRC (library). The second project is a brand new track, which will also be available to be utilized by the community. These projects are in progress and will be ready for the start of the 2019-20 school year.

EPCHS will use existing funds and will not require that any bonds be issued as most districts do to fund capital projects. Also, the Board of Education has approved a tax abatement that will be applied to next fall’s tax bills. This will return approximately $130 per household based on a $200,000 market value.

According to Superintendent O’Malley, “Evergreen Park Community High School District 231 is one of only 63 school districts in the State of Illinois, out of a total of 857, to be debt free. We will maintain our sound financial position by continuing to stringently control expenditures as evidenced by the District's top financial profile designation of RECOGNITION from the Illinois State Board of Education.”
