Village Board Briefer: New Business on Western Avenue, Movies in the Park Return
The bare bones of last night's village board meeting.

The Village Board met this week, granted several requests and announced Phase II of the Street Paving Project among other items. Here were a few hot topics:
Business Regulation Certificate Approved
Shortly after the meeting was called to order, the Board of Trustees unanimously approved a business regulation certificate for 3D Nails, which will be located at the intersection of 95th Street and Western Avenue.

Metropolitan Mayor’s Caucus dues approved
Trustees approved annual dues for The Mayor’s Caucus for $694.

Resident Raises Concerns about Trash Service
During the open public forum a resident voiced his displeasure with the way waste management was currently being handled in the village. The resident was unhappy because he noticed that garbage was not being separated into trash and goods that can be recycled such as paper and aluminum. Sexton assured the resident that his concern would be resolved. Waste management for the Village of Evergreen Park is contracted to Land and Lakes Scavenger Service.
Village Enters Phase II of Street Paving Project
The Village is now in Phase II of the street paving project. Contractors are now focusing their attention on the area of 95th to 99tth street Western Ave to California Ave. The project is expected to wrap up next month.

This week’s feature film for Movies at the Park is Despicable Me. It will be shown at dusk at Duffy Park, 9100 S Millard Ave. Bring your blankets!
