Welcome Summer This Saturday At Evergreen Park's Day In The Park

EVERGREEN PARK, IL -- Welcome summer at the Village of Evergreen Park's biggest block party of the year this Saturday, June 29. The 31st annual "A Day In The Park" will be held rain or shine at the new Evergreen Park Community Center building from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. The neighborhood celebration features music, entertainment, children's activities, a wine and beer garden, and food from the Evergreen Park's most popular restaurants.

There will be plenty of tasty eats to try from local restaurants, including America’s Dog and Burger (chicken strips and black pepper tater tots), Barraco's Restaurant (pizza, smoothies), Evergreen Park Recreation Department ( popcorn and sno cones), LaCochia Jalisciense (Mexican dishes), Red Palm Restaurant (guacamole chips, wings, speciality drinks) and Sesame Inn (Chinese dishes). The Evergreen Park Fire Department will also be grilling corn and Polish sausage, with chips, hot dogs, soda and candy sold by the Evergreen Park Youth Department. No coolers will be allowed in the park or within the confines of the park.

Day In The Park caps off with performances by popular local bands by Coax and Folks at 4 p.m., followed by The Larkin and Moran Brothers at 6:30 p.m. The Evergreen Park Community Center is located at 3450 W. 97th St. Admission is FREE.

Schedule of Activities, Saturday, June 29:

11:30 a.m.- 9 p.m. - Food vendors and beer/wine garden, featuring specialty beers.
11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. - Fire and police vehicles on display.
Noon to 4 p.m. - Family crafts
Noon to dusk -- arts and crafts show
Noon to 8:45 p.m. - Music and entertainment
1 p.m. - Parkette dancers and recreation department dancers and color guard
1 to 4 p.m. - Evergreen Park Field Department jump house
1 to 4 p.m. - Pony ride and petting zoo
1 to 5 p.m. - Rock climbing wall, face painting
4 to 6 p.m. - live music with Coax ‘n Rolks
6:30 to 8:45 p.m. - live music by The Moran and Larkin Brothers
