First Baby-Face Photo of Accused Bali Killer's Newborn Revealed

The first photograph of little Stella Schaefer, the baby born three weeks ago to the Oak Park teen accused of murdering her mother while on a Bali resort vacation, was snapped by a Daily Mail photographer during Tuesday court proceedings.

Heather Mack, 19, and her boyfriend Tommy Schaefer, 21, face death by firing squad if convicted of murdering Sheila von Wiese-Mack. Schaefer admitted beating her in the head with a heavy metal bowl during an argument over the then-unborn Stella last August. Schaefer and Mack then stuffed her mother’s body into a suitcase and left her in a taxi.

Prosecutors say this is a case of premeditated and “sadistic” murder, but out of mercy they asked the three justices last week to spare their lives because of the baby.

The newborn baby at the center of this horrible death is in her mother’s care behind bars in the Indonesian prison. On Tuesday, a friend was holding the baby outside the courtroom and the blanket covering her “fell away,” reports the Daily Mail, “revealing the child’s face to the world for the first time.”
