6 Frankfort Businesses Receive Coronavirus Complaints
The complaints are filed by members of the public and then investigated by the Will County Health Department.
FRANKFORT, IL — Six businesses in Frankfort have received "COVID-19 complaints" in recent months. The complaints are filed by members of the public and then investigated by the Will County Health Department. The health department reaches out to each business via phone and also conducts on-site visits.
Patch filed a FOIA request with the Will County Health Department, asking for complaints filed against businesses regarding social distancing and health guidelines since May.

Business: Home Depot, 2010 S. La Grange Road
Complaint: The staff is not complying with wearing masks.

The complaint was filed May 13. The health department went on-site after receiving the complaint. While on-site, the department witnessed employees wearing masks. The manager said employees are required to wear a mask, or they are told to go home. Masks are also provided before employees clock in, or they can wear their own.
Business: My Taco, 7940 W. Route 30
Complaint: No masks being worn by employees preparing food.
The complaint was filed June 23. The health department went on-site and observed all employees wearing masks. The owner said all employees always wear masks.
Business: Frankfort Country Market, held on Kansas Street
Complaint: No masks being worn by 50 percent of vendors and consumers. Said public works took down safety signage.
The complaint was filed July 2. The health department went on-site at the market on July 12 and spoke to the coordinator. The coordinator said the signage was passed out to vendors to hang up and also was posted at the market. Signage was also given to customers as well. Signs state that masks should be worn, social distance, and wash hands. The health department also witnessed vendors and customers wearing masks.
Business: CD&ME, 23320 S. La Grange road
Complaint: CD & ME is having entertainment and hundreds of people are showing up.
The complaint was filed July 2. The health department spoke to the owner on July 8 and was told the facility is practicing social distancing by having only eight people per table and tables are six feet apart. There are also markers on the ground so people can distance themselves. The facility is also limiting the amount of people allowed, and only three guests are allowed in the restroom at a time. Masks are being worn, and Plexiglas has been installed at the bar area. Only bottled beverages are being served.
Complaint: Believes the facility is hosting weddings with 180 plus guests. Also concerned with weekly concerts and not limiting the number of people attending.
This complaint was filed July 20. The health department spoke to the owner, who said the facility had an upcoming wedding with 125 guests. The facility was under the impression that the guidelines were for 50 percent capacity. The health department explained that groups of 50 people or 50 percent capacity is allowed, whichever is lower. There could be separate groups of 50 people that were separate from each other.
Business: Prestwick Country Club, 601 Prestwick Drive
Complaint: No employees are wearing masks at pool, bar or locker room. Not required for patrons to wear masks. Servers at pool told the complainant that they have the option to wear a mask. There are also private parties in a small room. Tables are also filled to capacity and there is overflow to the patio.
The complaint was filed July 15. The health department went on-site on Aug. 4 and the manager said the employees do wear masks. Members are also told to wear masks. The manager said there are small, private parties, and the largest they had was for 32 people. Tables are six feet apart and both patios are open. The facility also tries to have guests social distance as well.
Business: Jameson's Pub, 9545 St. Francis Road
Complaint: The bartender was not wearing a mask and the facility was overcrowded.
The complaint was filed July 20. The health department spoke to the manager, who said staff are required to wear masks and that the business is following guidelines and limiting the amount of people inside the facility. Every other table is blocked off from people sitting there. The health department witnessed employees wearing masks and social distancing was being practiced.
