• Illinois American Water customers speak out on $129 million rate hike at Bolingbrook hearing (shawlocal.com) — Frankfort residents who get service from Illinois American Water could see their monthly bills rise by about $10 for water and $23 for wastewater under a proposed $129 million rate hike. At a packed Bolingbrook hearing, customers, local leaders, and a consumer watchdog sharply criticized the plan, arguing the profitable private utility should fund infrastructure upgrades without further burdening suburban communities like Frankfort.
