Frankfort Swears In New Patrol Officer
Dimitrios Kametas has joined the Frankfort Police Department as a patrol officer.
FRANKFORT, IL — A new police officer was sworn in at the village board meeting March 2. Dimitrios Kametas has joined the Frankfort Police Department as a patrol officer.
Kametas has a Criminal Justice degree from St. Xavier University and has attended the suburban law enforcement academy at College of DuPage, Mayor James Holland said during the swearing in. Kametas has worked as a police officer in Evergreen Park and Hometown.
Holland said residents voted to approve a sales tax increase in 2018 and the village had said it would hire more police officers with that money.

Holland said the money has and is been used to increase the police force by 15 percent, from 28 to 33 officers.
The village has been in the process of hiring and training police officers and continues to do so, Holland said.
