Lincoln-Way East Students Test Samples At Argonne

FRANKFORT, IL — The Lincoln-Way East Exemplary Student Research Program group recently spent the day preparing and testing their iron supplement samples at Argonne National Laboratory. The school said the team was looking for the degradation of iron supplements.
“The number of learning opportunities in an experience like this is hard to measure,” Benjamin Voliva, Chemistry teacher at Lincoln-Way East sain in a release. “I like the in-depth exploration into chemistry and physics curriculum that is unique to an Argonne type of experience. However the interpersonal interactions, paperwork requirements, procedural details, and real life safety concerns imprint into the minds of the participants and makes them instantly professional.”
In May, the school said the students will present their findings at a research symposium.
