1,000 Customers Lose Power On Geneva’s West Side
An underground cable fault caused more than 1,000 customers to lose power, city officials said.

GENEVA, IL — Service to the South Street electric substation dropped Friday afternoon, resulting in more than 1,000 customers losing power, city officials said.
The disruption occurred at about 2 p.m. as a result of an underground cable fault.
The Public Works Electric Division nearly restored power to all customers around 2:30 p.m., but the service dropped again just a few minutes later. As of 3:05 p.m., 130 customers were without power, city officials said.

The Randall Square and Pepper Valley subdivisions, as well as portions of the Randall Road corridor, were most affected by the power outage.
If residents experience any more power failures, they should call the Geneva Police Department non-emergency number at 630-232-4736 . Police will then dispatch the on-call Public Works Electric Division staff to investigate the problem.
