Accessibility Projects Planned At 2 State Street Intersections
The Illinois Department of Transportation will be helming the Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant pedestrian improvements in Geneva.
GENEVA, IL — The Illinois Department of Transportation will make accessible pedestrian approaches at two State Street intersections in Geneva this month.
Work will begin at the intersection of Seventh Street during the week of Feb. 17 and, once finished, will shift to Anderson Boulevard. Accessible pushbuttons and leading pedestrian interval timing updates are planned at each corner of both intersections.
The city has not received a full schedule from IDOT on when the improvements will be completed.

Signs have been posted along State Street to alert drivers of the upcoming work. City officials expect State Street, Seventh Street and Anderson Boulevard to remain open during the project, but lanes may close intermittently. Pedestrian access may be limited when crews are working.
