• Natural Gas Leaks On Anderson Boulevard, Permanent Repairs Underway (patch.com) — Geneva crews and Nicor Gas responded after a contractor hit both water and gas lines on Anderson Boulevard, briefly leaking natural gas near Geneva High School. Utilities were secured by early afternoon, but Ford Street remains closed between Anderson Boulevard and McKinley Avenue while permanent gas line repairs continue, and nearby residents are urged to call 911 if they smell gas indoors.
• Single-family home sells for $629,000 in Geneva (shawlocal.com) — A four-bedroom, three-bath home on Sounders Drive in Geneva sold on Sept. 28 for $629,000, offering nearly 2,900 square feet, a fireplace, central air, and three parking spots. The report also highlights several other recent high-end single-family sales around Geneva, giving residents a snapshot of current neighborhood price trends.
• Geneva football offense complemented by dominant defense in 42-14 win over Wheaton North (shawlocal.com) — Geneva football fans saw the Vikings dominate Wheaton North 42-14 at home, staying perfect in DuKane Conference play behind a powerful offensive line and five touchdowns from senior back Nelson Wendell.
