Saturday, Oct. 1, is the day for Mutual Ground's 4th Annual fundraiser "Walk for Hope" at Fabyan Forest Preserve. The 5K walk (and fun run) is along the Fox River to Wilson Street and back. The Walk is a family-friendly event complete with refreshments, children's activities and entertainment.
There are no registration fees. Participants form teams and create their own 'fundraising page" at www.firstgiving.com/mutualground, which they send out to their contacts. Each participant is asked to raise $100 or more.
Mutual Ground provides services for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in Southern Kane and Kendall Counties. All services are free.
