Meet Geneva's Own Tom Lichtenheld

One day, two fabulous programs with best-selling children's book illustrator Tom Lichtenheld at GHC.

GHC will host 2 programs on Saturday, April 6. They include a presentation and Bookmaking Workshop with best-selling children's book illustrator Tom Lichtenheld.

The first program is at 2 p.m. with a presentation for adults and children. Tom will talk about sources of inspiration and the development of a book from the initial idea through finished manuscript and illustrations.  He covers wordplay, editing, and visual storytelling. There will be some interactive drawing and a short Q&A and book-signing after the presentation.

The second program is at 3 p.m. with a hands-on Bookmaking Workshop for children ages 8- 10 years old.  Lichtenheld will conduct a combination of writing lesson and art class covering the basics of storytelling. Each participant will get their own unique 'story starter'. Then with Tom's help, will develop their story into a short picture book.

Both programs include FREE admission to the museum exhibition, Start With A Sketch, featuring cartoonists and illustrators connected to our community. Original artwork by Tom Lichtenheld included and his books are available for purchase in our Museum Store.

Admission for the 2 p.m. program is $10 per person, $5 for GHC Members and students.  Admission for the 3 p.m. Book Making Workshop is $15 for children 8-10 years old and includes supplies and a coupon for one free Happy Meal from McDonald's of Geneva.
