Running for a 2nd Term as Commissioner, There Is More to Do

Running for a second term as Commissioner, there is more to do

Roads are expected to be open and safe 24/7/365; being a road commissioner is not a trivial endeavor.

As Geneva Highway Commissioner, I have frozen the levy 3 out of 4 years. The taxes collected are used to care for the roads in the unincorporated portions of Geneva Township including 3 miles of high-speed roads. Major responsibilities include plowing services, road maintenance, care of sidewalks, street lights, trees, curbs, signage, shoulders, ditches, culverts, four bridges, mailboxes, insurance, professional services, and more.

1. If I an honored with re-election I will continue to focus my efforts on the roadways, which are deteriorating in the four major subdivisions of Geneva Township: Mill Creek, Spring Green, Old Kirk Rd. and The Leas.

2. Repair the water drainage system in the district by re-sculpturing the ground and replacing rapidly deteriorating culverts.

3. Work with local units of government to develop a new bike path along Wenmouth Rd. and McKee St., building a green and safe connection from the Geneva trails system to the Batavia system.

I will continue to save money and work diligently to find more grants that will help reduce taxpayer’s cost of re-building the road system.

I will continue to work hard to care for the road system under my control. I can be reached for questions on my personal cell phone 630/404-8255. I would be honored to have your VOTE on April 9, 2013 for Highway Commissioner.

Thank you,

Mark T. Wissing
