Expect Scattered Thunderstorms Pretty Much All Week

There will be periodic thunderstorms Monday through Friday, the NWS-C says.

The National Weather Service-Chicago says Geneva, Batavia and St. Charles are likely to see occasional thunderstorms Monday—and pretty much for the balance of the week.

There's a Hazardous Weather Outlook in place Monday, June 24, 2013, for Kane County and most of Northern Illinois. The chances of severe thunderstorms were expected to lessen as the morning progresses, but are predicted to pick up again in the late afternoon and evening.

There will be periodic thunderstorms Tuesday through Friday, the NWS-C says, so if you're planning to mow your lawn a couple times this week—as seems necessary with all the rain we've been getting—try to fit it in when you can.

The threat of severe winds and hail is low Tuesday through Saturday—at least, so far in the forecast—so the greatest threat will be flash flooding.

No severe heat in sight. It's supposed to get up to 90 on Tuesday, but remain in the 80s most of the week.
