But in the second half, it was the Vikings who had the strong start.
Bobby Hess broke away for a 63-yard run from scrimmage, with a good stiff arm and better speed to get outside. Geneva led for the first time, 21-17.

The Saints were forced to punt, and a bad long-snap exchange gave Geneva the ball on the Saints' 14. Parker Woodworth punched it in on the fourth play, and it was 28-17.
After that, Mother Nature took over. Saints fumble. Vikings fumble. Saints intercept, but turn it over on downs. A lot of penalities on both sides of the ball.
The Vikings sealed the win on a drive that included eight Woodworth runs—the biggest a 30-yarder on third down. He scored from 7 yards out with 1:27 left, and a 35-17 Geneva victory was in store.
