Flood Warning Continues Through Tuesday Morning
Flooding is expected along area rivers and in some communities.

A flood warning for several northern Illinois counties has been extended until 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.
From one to three inches of rain fell Monday afternoon and evening through much of the suburbs with rainfall rates in excess of five inches recorded in some areas, according to the National Weather Service.

With emergency managers reporting numerous road closures due to flooding, the following counties have extended a flood warning into Tuesday morning: DuPage, Kane, Cook, Kendall and Northern Will.
Some towns expected to experience flooding include: Wheaton, Arlington Heights, Oak Park, Mount Prospect, Naperville, Elgin, Chicago, Des Plaines and Skokie.

The National Weather Service has also issued a flood warning for the following area waterways: the Des Plaines River near Des Plaines, the Des Plaines River at Riverside, the Du Page River at Shorewood, the East Branch of the Du Page River at Bolingbrook, the Fox River at Montgomery and the Western branch of the DuPage River near Warrenville.
As of 9 p.m., the DuPage River near Warrenville was 11.7 feet and had exceeded its flood stage, which is 11.5 feet. The National Weather Service reported minor flooding. The river was expected to rise to 13.5 feet by Tuesday afternoon.
