Geneva Basketball Star Dan Trimble Signs with West Georgia
Dan Trimble, one of Geneva's best basketball players in a number of years, has decided to go to the University of West Georgia.
Dan Trimble, a 6-8 forward from Geneva High School, is the University of West Georgia's second men's basketball signee of the 2011 recruiting season. Coach Michael Cooney announced Wednesday.
"Dan is an athletic, 6-8 shooter who runs the floor well," says Cooney. "We were already interested in Dan, but when he came on his visit, he really won us over."
Trimble last season averaged 14.9 points and 8.2 rebounds per game for coach Phil Ralston's Geneva Vikings. He was a two-time All-Area selection, and was named IBCA All-State Special Mention.

Cooney sees a bright future for his young, big man. With his frame, Dan can easily grow another inch or two, and put on 15-20 pounds, says the coach. Cooney adds, "Watching him play, we felt that with strength and maturity, Dan was a definite Division I prospect. He could be real force in the Gulf South Conference."
Trimble is West Georgia's second announced signee of the current recruiting season. Earlier, Cooney announced the addition of Lavon Gray, a 6-6, juco transfer from Ohlone (CA) College. Cooney is expected to add several more recruits before completing his roster for the 2011-12 season.
