Geneva City Council Considers App to Allow Residents to Pay Parking Fees from Phone
The app could be especially convenient for those running late to catch a Metra train or for those who forget to pay their parking fees.
GENEVA, IL -- The Geneva City Council is considering signing on with Passport Parking Inc. to provide an app that would allow residents to pay for daily fee parking in the garage on South Third Street from the convenience of their phone or computer, according to the Daily Herald.
Those parking would have to pay an extra 37 cents on top of the $2 parking fee at the garage, and $1.75 fee in the overflow lot, to use the app, according to the Daily Herald. But, it could save those running late to catch a train, or who forgot to pay, the cost of a fine.
Geneva Alderman are expected to discuss the new automated system during their meeting on Aug. 22.
