Geneva D304 Switches To E-Learning Due To Frigid Temperatures

The National Weather Service predicted wind chills between 25-35 degrees below zero on Friday.

GENEVA, IL — Students who attend Geneva Community Unit School District 304 schools will learn remotely Friday due to "inclement weather," administrators announced Thursday.

The National Weather Service forecast a high of minus 2 Thursday night, with wind chills as low as 35 below zero. The high is predicted to be minus 5 degrees on Friday, with wind chills as low as 25 below zero.

As a result, students in kindergarten through 12th grade will learn remotely by logging in on their devices and participating in classes.

Geneva Early Learning Program preschool students will also engage in remote activities through Microsoft Teams and Seesaw. Attendance will be taken remotely, officials said.

District 304 said any additional information about athletics and other after-school activities will be communicated by each school.
