Geneva Girls Soccer Team Wins Upstate Eight Title
Vikings win back-to-back conference championships.
With an 8-0 win over conference rival Elgin Tuesday night, the Geneva varsity soccer team successfully defended its title as Upstate Eight River Division Conference champion.
Michaela Loebel started off the scoring and was followed by goals by Catherine Allon (2), Amanda Lulek, Caitrin Griffin, Megan Kozlow, Ally Serra and an Elgin own-goal.
Perhaps the key to Geneva’s conference title was a 4-2 victory the previous Tuesday over conference rival Batavia in a steady rain. Scoring for the Vikings were Michaela Loebel (2), Amanda Lulek and Molly Axen.
