Geneva Girls Take 1st, Boys 3rd in Cross Country Race on Chicago Marathon Course

Congratulations to Geneva cross country teams on the Northside-Southside Challenge!

The Geneva High School firls cross country team took first place in a field o 19 teams and the boys team took third place in a field of 21 teams competing Sunday morning in the Northside-Southside Challenge, crossing the finish line of the Chicago Marathon course.

The 2.62-mile course is an Illinois High School Association sponsored race that gives runners the opportunity to work with a Nike Elite Athlete captain and race in front of thousands of spectators on the Bank of America Chicago Marathon race-day course.

A field of 123 girls competed. The top three Geneva finishers were Machenzie Williams, Kylie Monahan and Brooke Nusser.

There were 144 competitors in the boys race. The top three Geneva finishers were Michael Bianchina, Peter Archibald and Dan Herrera.
