Geneva Park District Achieves Financial Achievement

The park district has earned the distinction for the seventh year in a row.

GENEVA, IL - From The Geneva Park District: The Geneva Park District has received The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR). This is the seventh consecutive year that the District has received this prestigious award.

The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by the Geneva Park District.

“The District is extremely proud of this prestigious award and will continue to work to provide financial reports that demonstrate fiscal responsibility and transparency, said Christy Powell, Superintendent of Finance & Personnel.

The CAFR has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.
