Check out this great New York Times article about the growing movement of Midwestern farmers transitioning from row crop to produce production. Local farmer Tim Seplika, who grows sweet corn and other vegetables on his Maple Park farm, is quoted towards the end of the article.
Seplika is also featured in Northern Illinois Food Bank’s Fall 2013 newsletter for his work supplying the non-profit organization with over 172,000 ears of sweet corn last summer. Find it here (on page 6).
