Jeb Bush Makes Stop in Geneva Tonight

A meet-and-greet fund-raiser will be held at the home of Janet and Gerard Keating.

Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush will be making a stop in Geneva tonight.

A meet-and-greet fund-raiser will be held at the Geneva home of Janet and Gerard Keating and 100 people are expected to attend, the Kane County Chronicle reports. Donations to attend the event are between $250 and $1,000 per person.

Keating, the president and CEO of Keating Resources LLC, got to know Jeb Bush after Keating bought a 20-acre site near the Miami International Airport in Florida and developed it into a logistics center, the Daily Herald reports. Bush was the governor of the state at the time.

Keating told the Kane County Chronicle he supports Bush because of his personal business experience in Florida and has learned the “pro-business environment” and “ growing population of investment in school and infrastructure” in the state was “created by and through the leadership of Jeb.”

He told Bush that if he ever ran for president, he would love to bring him to Illinois. John F. Kennedy was the last presidential candidate to visit Geneva on Oct. 25, 1960, according to the Daily Herald.
