Kane County Hosts Recycling Event This Weekend

The event will be held from 8 a.m. to noon.

The Kane County Recycles Event will be held on Saturday between 8 a.m. and noon at 540 S. Randall Road in St. Charles.

Residents can drop off electronics like computers, keyboards, laptops, printers, televisions (any size or age), stereos, cell phones, microwaves, Christmas lights, and more. Books of any age will be taken for reuse or recycling.

Liquid latex paint is the only item that has a recycling fee per container, payable by the resident with cash or check. It is $2 per pint, $3.50 per gallon, and $10 per 5-gallon bucket. Latex paint is non-toxic but difficult to dispose of normally because you have to dry it out before placing it in your landfill trash, according to a Kane County press release. No oil based product will be accepted.
