Motorcyclist Killed Sunday at Kautz and Route 38

James R. Stevens, 58, of St. Charles dies after losing control of his 1985 Honda motorcycle.

Geneva police have identified the man killed Sunday, Aug. 18, when he lost control of his motorcycle at Kautz Road and Route 38.

James R. Stevens, 58, of St. Charles was attempting to turn his 1985 Honda motorcycle north onto Kautz Road from Illinois Route 38 a little before 2:46 p.m. Aug. 18 when he, "for unknown reasons, lost control of his motorcycle," Geneva police said in a press release Monday.

The motorcycle left the roadway on the west side of Kautz Road and struck a tree.

Stevens was transported to Central DuPage Hospital by the West Chicago Fire Department where, sadly, he was pronounced dead due to injuries sustained in the crash.

The traffic crash remains under investigation by the Geneva Police Department.
