Geneva's boys basketball season came to an end Monday night in the Class 3A Naperville North regional quarterfinal.
No. 17 Geneva led for much of the first half and hit a pair of free throws to take a 42-40 lead over No. 16 Plainfield East (15-12) with 5:26 to play in the game.
But with the Bengals' scoring and steals leader, junior guard Deontre Brown, out with a broken hand, ’s 6-8 junior center Brian Bennett came off the bench to spark a 49-44 win over the Vikings.
