Purse Disappears When Homeowner Stops to Do Yardwork

Theft Under $500: Purse apparently taken after owner sets down her purse on the outside stairs of her home.

Just 15 minutes to do some yard work. Is that too much to ask? Apparently it was for one Geneva resident who set down her purse long enough to perhaps pull some weeds.

A resident told police someone took a black leather purse from the outer stairs of a home in the 400 block of Richards Street sometime between 2:20 p.m. and 2:35 p.m. Nov. 15, Geneva police reports said.

The victim told police she was outside doing some yard work and had placed her purse on the stairs. When she was getting ready to leave at 2:35 p.m., she was not able to locate her purse.
