Resident's Post-Office Package Cleared After Threat to Pennsylvania Business

The Batavian's former phone number in Pennsylvania is phoned with a threat, and authorities are concerned it might be leveled at the Batavia woman.

How does a threat to a Pennsylvania business end up with concerns that it's aimed at a Batavia woman? Follow if you dare.

Batavia police reported at 5:38 p.m. Nov. 2 that they responded to a call from law enforcers in Pennsylvania, who requested Batavia police check the well-being of a resident of the 2700 block of Sperry Court.

According to the report, a business in Pennsylvania now has the Batavia resident’s former phone number and had recently received a threat — and authorities were concerned that the woman might have been the target of the threat.

The victim said she wasn’t aware of any issues that would be the cause of a threat but said she did have a notice from the Post Office saying a registered mail parcel was to be delivered.

Police contacted postal service authorities, and the package was found to be harmless. An investigation is pending.
