Route 31 Sidewalk Project Planned For Geneva, St. Charles

Work was expected to get under in mid-August.

The cities of St. Charles and Geneva are partnering to complete much needed sidewalk connection improvements on Geneva Road/Route 31 from Willowgate Lane in St. Charles south to the existing sidewalk near Wheeler Park in Geneva. Work was scheduled to begin in mid-August with substantial completion in late fall, according to a news release.

Work includes construction of a sidewalk and culvert extension, installation of retaining walls, stream bank stabilization, and restoration. Kovilic Construction of Franklin Park is the construction contractor, and construction inspection services are provided by WBK Engineering of St. Charles.

There will be times during this work that Geneva Road/IL Route 31 in the area of the construction will be reduced to one lane with flaggers directing traffic. Motorists may experience delays when traveling through this area.
