50-Year-Old Holds Up Randall Road Subway

No gun is displayed during the heist early Sunday evening robbery at Subway, 570 S. Randall Road.

Area police are seeking an older man who robbed a fast-food sandwich shop early Sunday evening, Nov. 3, on the West Side of St. Charles.

A release police issued Monday states that officers were dispatched about 5:25 p.m. to an “armed robbery that just occurred” at Subway, 570 S. Randall Road.  

The robber is described as a 50-year-old white male standing 6 feet or 6-foot-1, weighing 200 to 220 pounds, with gray hair, a short to medium beard, and wearing a red baseball cap, a blue denim long-sleeve button-up shirt, blue jeans, unknown shoes, and light/powder blue latex gloves. The robber also was described as having a disheveled appearance.

According to the release, the robber approached the employee and demanded money, saying he had a gun, although no gun was displayed during the incident. The employee told police that the robber’s hands were unconcealed during the incident, and that he never threatened the safety of the employee.

The robber was given an undisclosed sum of money and fled.

According to the release, police have no information about the suspect’s vehicle except that a silver four-door sport utility vehicle drove past shortly after the incident. Police said they do not know yet if the SUV was involved.

The case remains under investigation, and police are asking that anyone with information about the robbery call the the St. Charles Police Department Investigations Unit at 630-377-4435.
