Stupid Criminal Stories: Geneva Man Calls Police for Car Lockout in Batavia, Then ...

We know that "stupid" is a hurting word and probably shouldn't be applied in a family website, but it's frankly hard to find a substitute sometimes.

The latest example of "Stupid Criminal Tricks" is unremarkable except for the, well, not-so-very-brightness of its perpetrator.

This from the Batavia police blotter:

While responding to a vehicle lockout at the Coach House, 3 S. Batavia Ave., police determined that the driver was wanted on a warrant out of DuPage County for failure to appear.

The offender, Anthony Serrato, 22, of Geneva was taken into custody. He posted $300 bond in addition to the FTA fee and $17.81 service fee.

He was released with a DuPage court date of Jan. 7.
