U of I Extension to host hydroponic production workshop in February

Ever heard of hydroponics?

Hydroponic growing methods, which involve cultivating plants in water, without soil, are an increasingly popular way to grow food. University of Illinois Extension of DuPage, Kane and Kendall Counties will host a two-day workshop on hydroponic production, aimed at those interested in learning more about this innovative form of agriculture for both recreation and commercial production.

The workshop will be held February 25-26 at the St. Charles Extension office (535 S Randall Road). The basics of hydroponic principles and practices will be covered by Extension and U of I Horticulture Research Center staff. A greenhouse tour highlighting various growing techniques will also be included.
