Viking Volleyball Team Beats STC North 25-16, 25-18

Vikings up season record to 12-4. Next stop: St. Charles East.

The Vikings volleyball team beat the NorthStars Tuesday night in two sets, 25-16, 25-18, upping their season record 12-4.

Playing at home, the Vikings came out with fire in their eyes and passion in their heart as Geneva swung through North’s blocks.

Melissa Hanika had tough swings against North’s defense, leading the team with 7 kills. Elle Weinstein followed with 6 kills, and Hannah Buck made some great saves; totaling 5 kills for the team.

The Vikings forced the NorthStars to make mistakes and carried that into game two. Ashleigh Shain kept the momentum on Geneva’s side with outstanding defense. Shain had 13 digs against North’s offense and led the team with energy.

Overall, it was a good match and both teams played tough.
