Will St. Charles Get A New Aquatics Center?

Swim City leaders are looking to build a new aquatics center in St. Charles but first need to raise funds.

ST. CHARLES, IL - A group of individuals pushing for a new aquatics center in St. Charles are continuing to ramp up support and raise funds as they hope to make the facility a reality. With plans to name the center Swim City USA, Swim City leader Brett Milo told the Daily Herald the aquatics center would have two pools in it and is meant to meet the competitive and recreational needs of swimmers throughout the region.

Currently, Milo said, the Norris Center in St. Charles serves as a great pool for the community, but when there is a swim meet there, residents in St. Charles are not able to use it, according to the Daily Herald. Swim City leaders say the new pool would fix that problem, offering a 10-lane, 50-meter pool and a three-lane zero-depth pool.

Swim City has teamed up with the St. Charles Park District to move the project forward. The facility would be located at St. Charles Park District’s East Side park on land already owned by the district, according to Swim City's website.
