HANOVER PARK, IL — A Glendale Heights man faces first degree murder charges after he was accused of fatally shooting a man in the leg in Hanover Park in early August. Richard Goodwin, 55, of the 12oo block of Raleigh Court, was also charged with two counts of aggravated battery in connection with the incident, which police say fatally injured Marek Krywko.

Prosecutors say Goodwin came with two women to a home on Pebblebeach Drive just after 7:45 p.m. to buy marijuana from Krywko. Goodwin is accused of shooting a woman at the home in the left thigh when she offered him a bottle of water. He is then accused of shooting Krywko in the left thigh, puncturing his femoral artery, before fleeing with the two women.

Police officers arrived at the scene to find Krywko unresponsive. He was rushed to a nearby hospital and pronounced dead shortly after arriving.
