About Glen Ellyn Infant Welfare Society

For more than 85 years, the women of the Glen Ellyn Infant Welfare Society have made a commitment to ensure the well-being of Glen Ellyn’s children, and today support more than 30 agencies throughout DuPage County that provide critical services to thousands of individuals in need. The group was established in 1926 by five Glen Ellyn women who saw children lacking basic nutrition, so they made and sold aprons to buy milk for their families. In addition to fundraising, the group volunteers at local agencies such as the Glen Ellyn Food Pantry, People’s Resource Center and Family Shelter Services, and provides scholarships for local students who could not otherwise continue their education.
