Glen Crest Faculty and 7th Grade Girls Basketball Team Work to Make Wishes Come True

The first two weeks of March, Glen Crest Middle School staff and seventh grade girls basketball team worked on projects for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.  The  girls basketball team hosted a raffle and bake sale at their March 1 homegame and raised over $500 toward the Make-A-Wish Illinois Chapter.  The staff and faculty participated in the “Jeans for Wishes,” campaign.  During the week of March 5 through 9 each staff member who paid $5 could wear jeans and casual clothes for the day.  If they donated $20 to the Make-A-Wish charity, they could wear their jeans all week long.  Eighth grade social studies teacher, Pat Doyle coordinated the staff project and he announced a total of $965 raised by the middle shool staff.  Adding the two donations together, Glen Crest Middle School donated over $1500 to the Illinois chapter.
Captain of the girls basketball team, Allie Sims coordinated the efforts of the seventh grade girls basketball team.  Sixth grade social studies teacher and coach of the team, Craig Hofmann said,” All the girls contributed to making posters and bake sale items, and most of them also got at least one contributor for the raffle. It was a true team effort!”
