Glenbard West Cheerleaders are headed back to the IHSA State Cheerleading Championships. A young and inexperienced roster with only 8 returning members of last year's 10th place state finalist team, they made an impressive showing at the Rolling Meadow's Sectional Saturday. The Hilltoppers placed a close second behind last year's state runner up Conant High School, with a raw score of 89.3.
They will head to Bloomington, Ilinois Friday for the preliminary round of the IHSA State Cheer Finals. Members of the Hilltopper team are freshmen Samantha Iverson, Hannah Montgomery, Jacqueline Faber, Allie Roule and Tianna Grande; Sophomores Kim Lancaster, Kenndy Monroe, Madison Kemp, Sarah Balanon, and Kyra Lane; Juniors Cait Faber, Chandler Moritz, Stacey Thomas, Megan Murphy, Lauren Simms, Nina Fratacola, Ellisa Rucinski, Cesar Valequez, and Kyle Hoang; Seniors Katie McGee, Stefanie Giovianni, Kaitlyn Skryd, Alexis Behnke, and Kara Garvey. Glenbard West is coached by Michelle Gatz and Danielle Pusateri.
