Break Out Your Lederhosen For Oktoberfest At These DuPage County Events
Grape stomping, Bier drinking, and sausage eating contests are part of the nearly month-long Oktoberfest events in DuPage County.

GLEN ELLYN, IL — The time has come for lederhosen, topped-off beer steins, and bursting bratwursts. Oktoberfest is upon us and DuPage County will be packed with events to celebrate German culture and obligatory overindulgence.
Glendale Heights Oktoberfest

Residents will have plenty of opportunities to raise a stein at the Sixth Annual Glendale Heights Oktoberfest. The fest begins Sept. 14 and runs through Sept. 24. Chef Wolfgang from Schnitzel Platz Restaurant will be grilling up his famous bratwursts and Chicago-based Hofbräu Brewery will be on hand to serve imported beer from Münich that's said to be the oldest beer in the world.
Traditional German music, a pumpkin patch, and live entertainment will round out the festivities.

The Glendale Heights Oktoberfest hours are:
Mondays - Thursdays: 5pm - 10pm
Fridays: 5pm - Midnight
Saturdays: Noon - Midnight
Sundays: Noon - 10pm
Admission
Adults - $5.00 (After 4pm)
Children (16 & under) FREE
Parking for the event is free.
Noon Whistle Brewing Oktoberfest
800 E Roosevelt Rd., Lombard
If you have a hearty appetite, you won't want to miss the Noon Whistle Brewing Oktoberfest. The festival —which runs from noon to 11 p.m. on Sept. 23, has a sausage eating contest that's sure to drum up some fierce competition. Festival goers are encouraged to wear lederhosen and dirndls as they sample beer releases from Super Oberkrainer and dance to German tunes. Admission is free.
Oak Brook Park District Oktoberfest
Central Park, 1500 Forest Gate Rd.
This Oktoberfest celebration ventures a little bit outside of German tradition by adding a softball tournament to the mix. Beer and live music will set the mood for a celebration that includes entertainment for both kids and adults. The Oak Brook Park District Oktoberfest takes place on Sept. 23 from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Lynfred Winery Oktoberfest, Grape Stomp and Pig Roast
15 S. Roselle Road, Roselle
What better time to channel Lucille Ball than on Oktoberfest, when Lynfred Winery hosts festivities that include grape stomping, grape spitting, and cork tossing. The Lynfred Winery Oktoberfest melds oenophilia with German tradition by hosting sing-alongs to German folk tunes and serving up an array of popular Deutsche delicacies. The event runs from 3 p.m. to 9 a.m. on Sept. 30 and 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. on October 1.
