Presenting historian and actor Terry Lynch as Baron Von Steuben, the Glen Ellyn History Center’s historic event is Saturday, October 10, 2:00 PM at 800 N. Main Street in Glen Ellyn. Lynch tells the history of Von Steuben, a skilled soldier in Europe who was seeking a battle to engage in. He arrived at Vally Forge and was warmly received by George Washington. The Baron established a strong bond between officers and enlisted soldiers. His teachings and strategies served as the standard for military practices and can be found in the “Blue Book,” still used at West Point today. Admission for this program is $10 for adults and FREE for GEHS members and students. Call 630-469-1867 and check the website at www.gehs.org.
