Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month at College of DuPage
College of DuPage will host a series of events in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month on the College's Glen Ellyn campus, 425 Fawell Blvd. All events are free and open to the public.
Sponsored by the College’s Latino Outreach Center, Center for Student Diversity and Inclusion, and the Office of Student Life, the celebration will include a variety of activities and events celebrating Hispanic art, music and culture. Scheduled events include:

Kimberly Potowski, Professor of Hispanic Linguistics at the University of Illinois at Chicago, summarizes recent research on the Spanish language in the U.S., addressing issues such as the principal characteristics as it is spoken resulting from contact with English and between different Spanish dialects.

“La Boda de Valentina” Screening and Refreshments

Her universe trembles when her boyfriend proposes marriage and she must confront her family, the Hidalgo, the most chaotic and surreal political dynasty in the history of Mexico.

Zamba Performance
Experience a zamba dance performance, the traditional dance of Argentina. The zamba is similar to the samba, but identified by the white handkerchiefs that both the man and the woman wave around elegantly as they dance.
