COD Dance Students Presents Fall Dance Fusion Nov. 8

Works by College of DuPage students, faculty and guest artists will be showcased at the College’s Fall Dance Fusion performance at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, in Belushi Performance Hall at the McAninch Arts Center on the Glen Ellyn campus, 425 Fawell Blvd.

Fall Dance Fusion features a diverse selection of dance styles including ballet, jazz, modern and hip-hop. Works by student choreographers Unna Fernandez, Jared Jackson and Nicolette Pilalis will be performed by a company of 26 dance students. The program will also include works by Dance faculty Emma Draves, Donna Douglas in collaboration with guest choreographer Julia Fanta-Carson, Nichole Quinn and Lexi Stilianos.

Featured guest performers include Chicago-based choreographic and performing artist Francesca Baron and DanceWest Ballet Company featuring choreographer Riley Moyano.

Baron’s original works have been presented at A New Light Festival, COD’s Annual Choreographer’s Showcase, Emergence Summer Festival, Lindenwood University and the American College Dance Association. She has performed with Inside Chicago Dance, Leverage Dance Theater, Visceral Dance Chicago, Trifecta Dance Collective and Project 606 Dance. Currently, she is a member of Still Inspired as they prepare for their sixth season.

DanceWest Ballet Company, based in Naperville, provides a well-rounded dance education to young artists through professional training. Founded by artistic directors Ricardo and Regina Moyano, the non-profit dance company includes a wide variety of classical ballet, jazz, modern and contemporary works.
